In September 2025, The Melville Centre became home to an exhibition of photographic work entitled 'Her Frame, Her Sound', which featured women jazz artists from the past years to present day.

Geri Allen, Abbey Lincoln and Alice Coltrane are all included together with contemporary artists - Lakecia Benjamin, Nubya Garcia and Brandee Younger are just a few of the names which made up the collection of photographs.

Fiona Ross who, as well as being a jazz singer, is the CEO of the Women In Jazz Media Organisation.  She curated the collection and John Hellings had a chance to to talk to her about her music and about the photographs in the exhibition
