BMJ Collective with guest Rob Luft

Black Mountain Jazz Club is delighted to welcome award-winning guitarist Rob Luft to The Melville

Centre, Abergavenny, for an evening of vibrant contemporary jazz.

Recently named ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ at the 2025 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Rob Luft is

widely regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting jazz guitarists of his generation. The London-born

virtuoso has drawn comparisons with Bill Frisell, John McLaughlin and Pat Metheny, while forging a

distinctive and highly individual musical voice.

His debut album Riser (Edition Records) was hailed by DownBeat Magazine as one of the best

albums of 2017, and his follow-up release Dahab Days further confirmed his reputation for

imaginative composition and expressive playing.

A former BBC New Generation Artist, Luft has performed internationally and collaborated with

leading artists including John Surman, Manu Katché and Elina Duni.

Together with the popular BMJ Collective, an outstanding night of modern jazz awaits.
