BMJ Collective and guest Jim Blomfield

Bristol-based pianist Jim Blomfield is the guest of BMJ Collective for our August mid-month early-

start gig.

Known for his versatility and musical sensitivity, he has worked across jazz, Afro- Cuban, Latin,

rock, funk and contemporary music.

He is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading Latin jazz and salsa pianists, bringing a strong

rhythmic understanding and stylistic authenticity to Afro-Cuban and Latin music contexts.

BMJ Collective gigs have become regular monthly events, each with a different guest musician. In a

review of last month’s gig (with guest Fabienne Ambuehl), Jazz Mann wrote “as I have previously

observed, this is a series of events that continues to punch well above its weight”. 

Expect nothing less than a very enjoyable evening!

All ticket holders from the mid-month BMJ Collective gigs on 12th July, 16th August and 11th October will be entered into our free-entry raffle, to be drawn on the last of those dates (there is no mid-month gig in September when we have our wall2wall Jazz Festival).

The Abergavenny Hotel have kindly donated a High Tea for 2 voucher for the winner and we will also have a couple of runner-up prizes.
