About the event
BMJ Collective’s guest this month is the London-based Swiss pianist, singer and composer Fabienne Ambuehl – widely appreciated for her vibrant contemporary jazz that weaves together elements of poetry, storytelling and a subtle folk influence.
Originally trained as a classical pianist, she fell in love with jazz after hearing a neighbour play the blues. She later completed a Master of Arts in Music from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, further developing her singing at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen.
Rich in detail and with striking energy, Fabienne Ambuehl’s music evokes a strong sense of place and atmosphere. At fourteen, she recorded her first album with a big band. Her latest album ‘Thrive‘, which won ‘Jazz Recording of the Year’ at Presto Music Awards 2025, was launched with a sold-out concert at London’s Vortex Jazz Club.
Together with the BMJazz Collective’s vibrant, collaborative sound, this promises another special evening of inspired and outstanding musicianship.
Please note that this is one of our early 7pm start programmes.
